Inspired by the Powell’s family contributions to and Bernard Powell’s slogan for improving life in the Kansas City community “Ghetto or Goldmine-The Choice is Yours,” the Project recognizes that the choice can only be yours if you are in a position to thrive and works to build a world in which every poor and working class person can choose the goldmine. The Project provides services that enhance thriving, contribute to community stability, and help interrupt the cycle of poverty. The Project begins with a focus on stabilizing housing and families and children by providing legal services to individuals and community organizations.
